i hate bank of america

I do, I hate them. Their random & not-so-random fees suck big time. Can you believe that they pull money from your account whenever you go inside to talk to them about your account or even to deposit money into your account. It's plain stupid and seriously impersonal. BLAH! Needless to say, I plan to close my account as soon as I discover my new bank of choice... friends are saying that Credit Unions are the way to go. And from what I've heard it sounds like a better way to go,.... and a much more personal and friendlier way to bank. OOOhhh, this computer is about to shut down due to lack of battery-juice. I gotta run. Just wanted to spew some of my ranting and raving about America's lousiest bank. Wheee...

the past is just the past

Well, so much has been said, both verbally and here in this blog over the past year... that indeed is evident. I have considered purging my posts as to leave no traces, much like a type of selective burning or atleast a spring cleaning, which would be time consuming, but I fear, though the past is the past and has definitely contributed to much of who I am today, knowledge of such past events and thoughts could certainly present problems in the future if not read with the view that the past is indeed just that, the past.

To purge or not to purge... atleast that is the thought. I have discovered as of yet the only way to save such a blog (rather than the whole 'delete this blog' option) would be to change my URL... but I like my clever URL: sleepywords has grown on me... I was thinking of doing this and then reinstating my sleepywords URL with a beautifully clean slate... Hmmm,... too much thinking... yes, indeed,... too much thinking. Would that deter my very blogosphere readers from my webspace? Well, you guys that read me, what do you think? Not that I can promise anything much at all, but well, I wouldn't mind hearing what you think.

they call me the 'crumb nazi'

No joke. My dear beloved apartment-mates have renamed me on occation, the Crumb Nazi. To which I reply, "No crumbs for you!"... only it comes out more like,
"Who left these crumbs here on the table?"or "Can someone please come and wipe of their dirty messes off the counters!" or in a sticky note saying, "Whose crumbs?! You know what to do."
I know, I know... it's terrible. But so is living in a sty... and that's what it would be if not for my little efforts... thanks to me and my crumb-nazi ways our apartment has managed to stay pretty much cochroach free. *knock on wood*

i've got cold feet!

Oh the weather outside is frightful!
I wish there was a fire inside, that would be delightful!

So we are FINALLY experiencing Winter here in Austin... It's ICY and COLD, and I do mean, FREEZING COLD!

We got a day and a half "off" since Campus was closed because of the icy conditions of the roads... but being a fulltimer, well, it's a fulltime job regardless of what everyone else is doing... don't get me wrong, I'm not griping. I like my "job"... I really do.

My toes are SO cold! I've finally purchased some fun wool-y socks, which look great in my Birkinstock mules btw. Now I would like to say that they are snug-as-a-bug... but well, they're still cold... even now as I type this. Oh well... nothing a fire or heater or hot bath couldn't help cure. I got excited over this cold weather... I've already been able to utilize my new Columbia jacket and well, ok, I'll admit, I even pulled out the snow boots and wore them under my boot-cut jeans... oooo THEN my feet were warm... SO NICE!
But Baby, It's COLD Outside!

much ado about nothing

Great movie. Saw it again just the other day. It has some great lines... oh that it does. I think it has got to be one of my favorites.

territorial bums

TEXT to GRACE at 8:20am:
I just watched a bum get punched in the face by three other bums. don't worry I was in my car. I'll tell you more later. good morning.

Yesterday I was driving in my car and stopped at the corner of I-35 and 38th St when I witnessed a bum fight. A homeless man was standing on the street corner holding a sign that I wasn't able to read from where I was when three other bums approached him from behind in a stalking-manner. It was freezing cold outside and I wasn't able to make out what they yelled at him over the sounds of my car and those around me. Then WACK! One of the three hauled off and slugged the man right in the face/head. He toppled over and another man slugged him in the side. They all stood there over him as he struggled to gather his sign and stand on his feet. He rose and starter to stagger across the street to the Shell station muttering something, and then the three bums picked up one of the few bags propped up against the guardrail and proceeded to walk in the opposite direction across the overpass. Strange things! What was stranger was seeing it all unfold before my eyes, and not being able to really do a thing, even if I had wanted to. I had heard that the homeless people standing on the street corners were very territorial... I just had never witnessed anything more than verbal fights...
