buns on the run

Ok, so I'm out with four other girls on my way to a college age mtg for church. This week marks the end of Fall Quarter so the mtg was held in one of the guy's trendy appartment in the Pearl District downtown. After entering the complex all clad in our various styles of clothing the five of us waited at the doors of the elevator. Two men (obvious co-dwellers of this residence) came and waited with us. "Oooo canned peaches!" He remarked regarding the box I was holding tightly to my chest. "Uhm, it's not peaches, it's Diet Pepsi," I replied feeling kinda stupid. Why!? Why did I feel like I had to justify my possessions? and the even bigger WHY?! was why did I get stuck with carrying this?! I looked like I had just gotten some goods from the homeless shelter. So the guy says, "Oooo, you guys are going to have a raging party upstairs tonight." and I had to proudly say, "Ya, and I even brought my sword." To which the man was a little too excited and bewithered and said, "A sword?! Really?!" "Yes, my sword," I reclarified and held up my New Testament loud and clear. To that I received a bunch of snickers complete with looks of surprise from the girls I was with and the two men said, "Well, Praise to the peaches!" and we were like, "Uhm, no. Sorry." In no time at all the elevator doors openned and we were trapped inside with these two blistering nosey men. It was then the same man noticed the bag of rolls that one of my friends was holding, "You sure have a whole lotta buns there. What are you going to do with those?!" *snicker, snicker* My God! Mister. Would you give it a rest already? Butt out! To which we were happy to have arrived on our floor and could further avoid such annoying banter only tollerable from people that you presently know. Upon leaving the elevator I couldn't help but call out, "You two have a good time tonight!" *wink*
